The Rookie Finder is a simple Tool used in mining training. When you equip it a User Interface (UI) will open in the top left corner of your screen. There you can choose what to scan for, "Energy Matter" and "Mineral Ore" are available on Calypso. When it is equipped, press "E" to use the Finder Tool. It will take some seconds for it to scan for resources. When the cooldown bar is full you can press "E" again to do another survey. Every survey uses Survey Probes. You can see how many Survey Probes will be used in the Finder's UI, it depends on the Finder and what you are scanning for. A Claim Marker will appear somewhere near you if your Finder discovers any resources. To extract resources from a Claim Marker you need an Extractor Tool, such as the Genesis Star Rookie Extractor. NotesThis finder can only be obtained from the mission "Another Message From Yoshida" as part of the tutorial mission chain on Thule. This finder was previously named "Thule Rookie Finder (L)".
